This blog will review and discuss the evidence of authenticity of the Study for the Bathers 1883-87 by the great artist Pierre Auguste Renoir with illustrations from the pastel study. From 1880 to 1890 Renoir often repeated the same theme in the style of impressionism and then in the style of classicism. This blog is dedicated to my deceased brothers: Robert Kitchen 1949-2009 and Richard Kitchen 1949-1994. For without them I would have never recognized the possibility of a Pastel by Renoir.
